String Orchestra of the Rockies                     http://www.sormt.org/

The String Orchestra of the Rockies is raising the curtain on its 26th year. It is the only professional ensemble of its kind in Montana. SOR, as the orchestra is affectionately known, draws upon the talents of the finest string players in the Big Sky Country, including faculty members of the University of Montana and Montana State University in Bozeman. SOR continues its commitment of ‘giving back’ to our community by offering master classes and workshops taught by these fine artists.

AniMeals exists as a food bank for animals and a No-Kill Adoption Center. We supplement the food needs of animals in the care of shelters and rescue groups, pets of homebound/disabled, caregivers of feral cat colonies and animals living on the streets. In 2005 AniMeals received a call from Missoula City/County Animal Control asking for help in sheltering an abandoned cat and that was the beginning of the partnership. A Recycle Cottage is located in Vibrant Hearing’s parking lot for aluminum can donations! AniMeals has set up an account with Pacific Recycling and Steel so when you make your donations tell them to post the refund to AniMeals account!

For more than 40 years, the Missoula Children’s Theatre has opened both hearts and minds of children to the possibility of achievement through creativity and teamwork that they learn during the theatrical process. This year alone, over 65,000 kids will be cast in one of many MCT International Tour shows. In Missoula, performing arts camps, classes, and performances for children ages K-12 are held several times a year.

Missoula Food Bank is a private, non-profit organization that addresses hunger in Missoula County by offering emergency food assistance to all individuals and families who come to us in need. We have been carrying out this model of service since 1982 and take tremendous pride in the diverse network of support that keeps our clients fed, our food service programs effective, and our organization healthy.

We provide a refuge for kids that have nowhere else to go. Our kids are as young as three and as old as 18. They have experienced domestic violence. They are abused. They are neglected. They have been exploited. They are homeless. They are unsafe at home. Over the years, Youth Homes has developed a diverse and community representative board which oversees our seven group homes and programs in foster care, kinship, adoption and family support as well as wilderness treatment and a Learning Lab located in the public schools. Youth Homes serves nearly 150 youngsters each day.

For more than 120 years, the Missoula Area Chamber of Commerce has worked to foster a healthy community. The Chamber provides networking, leadership, business resources and educational opportunities to our membership and we are proud to represent the largest business organization in Missoula. Vibrant Hearing has volunteered to help get local businesses listed in this year’s Health Guide, which is complimentary advertisement by the Chamber and the Human Services Committee and published by the Missoulian.
